In order to continuously advance the high-quality and connotation development of the exemplary English-taught courses for international students, the College of International Education took the lead in organizing the 2022 SBS Meeting on the Acceptance Review of Exemplary English-Taught Course Construction for International Students by combining online and offline methods on April 14. Chen Yili (Director of International Students Office of Tongji University), Sun Bing (Dean of International Cultural Exchange School of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics), and Zhu Zhanghua (Dean of College of International Cultural Exchange of Shanghai Ocean University) attended the Meeting as the evaluation experts, and 9teachersfrom College of Professional & Accountancy, College of Business Administration, College of Business and Economics and College of Hospitality Management of Shanghai Business School and relevant staffs from International Students Office of College of International Education attended the Meeting presided over by Dai Ying, Vice Dean of College of International Education.
At the Meeting, Vice Dean Dai Ying first introduced the present experts and clarified the acceptance process, key points and standards. A total of 9 teachers from College of Professional & Accountancy, College of Business Administration, College of Business and Economics and College of Hospitality Management reported their finalized courses, and in the course defense session,theyintroduced the construction achievements,completion ofteaching objectives, teaching results, integration of education in national conditions, teaching methods and assessment forms of their courses.
In the expert questioning session, thethreeevaluation experts, incl. Chen Yili, Sun Bing and Zhu Zhanghua, interacted with the teachers from various aspects such as course construction objectives, course video presentation, course targets, textbook selection, course construction results, teaching team, teaching content, teaching methods and means.
After the report, the experts made a full discussion and voted on the courses, and the 9 courses were successfully accepted. The successful conclusion of the Meeting strengthened the construction ofShanghai Business School’sexemplary English-taught courses for international students, and laid the foundation for the continuous promotion of high-quality and connotation development of international students and the implementation of international talent cultivation.
