On the morning of August 1, the 5-people delegation, including Yu Yong (Dean of Overseas College of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics) and Li Rongkang (Director of Yunnan International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges) came to Shanghai Business School to investigate the foreign aid training work. Dai Ying, Vice Dean of the College of International Education and Deputy Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) presided over the research and exchange meeting, and Yuan Mingyu, Director of the Financial Affairs Department, and Chen Wei, Executive Vice Dean of the College of International Education and Deputy Director of the Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai), attended the meeting.
Mr. Chen Wei expressed his warm welcome to the delegation, and introduced the basic situation and important achievements of SBS’ foreign aid training program from four aspects, including SBS profile, work situation, achievements and characteristics and future prospects. Afterwards, the two sides exchanged and discussed the post-training contact and graded management of the participants, the cases of excellent results, the development and construction of the teacher pool, the expansion of the destinations for visiting and investigation, the publicity of the training programs, and so on.
Mr. Li Rongkang strongly praised SBS’ foreign aid training work and briefly introduced the main contents and work objectives of the Center’s foreign aid training program. He said that the Center is still facing various problems in the development of foreign aid training, and through this exchange meeting, he further understood the development of SBS’ foreign aid training program, and hoped to learn from the experience for their further construction.
Mr. Yu Yong briefly introduced the basic situation concerning the international students, foreign aid training and overseas education of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. He put forward the initiative of establishing an innovation and entrepreneurship training base for international students in Shanghai and Yunnan, and suggested to strengthen the training of international students after graduation, reinforce their language proficiency, enhance their knowledge about Chinese laws and the development of Chinese enterprises’ going global,etc. Based on the mechanism of Shanghai-Yunnan cooperation, he proposed to deepen the reciprocal cooperation and promote the common development of the education of international students in Shanghai and Yunnan continuously.
Mr. Chen Wei made a concluding speech on the research and exchange meeting, emphasizing that in the future, the two bases should strengthen cooperation, deepen exchanges and learning, adhere to the original mission of foreign aid training, and base on the requirements of the national strategy, so as to jointly push forward the high-quality development of the cause of foreign aid training.
Yunnan International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges was established in 1994, directly under the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce, and was approved asaMOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials in 2014. Up to now, the Yunnan Base has trained more than 4,300 officials and technicians from 103 countries in 169 foreign aid training programs.
