On the afternoon of July 19th, President Wu Zhong met with Venezuelan Vice Minister of Science and Technology Ms. Danmaris and Assistant Minister Mr. Hausilius, accompanied by Ge Jingyi, the deputy-director-level researcher International Exchange Department of Shanghai Education Commission, Chen Wei and Ying Dai, executive vice deans of College of International Education of Shanghai Business School, and deputy director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai).
Mr. Wu Zhong extended a warm welcome and greetings to Ms. Danmaris andherdelegation for attendingSeminario de Innovación en Ciencia y Tecnología para Países Latinoamericanos held by Shanghai Business School. He said that since the reform and opening up, China has made rapid development whether in the fields of technology, education, and talent cultivation, or the global influence of China's excellent traditional culture. It is hoped that the scientific and technological innovation development experience of Shanghai and other cities in China can provide reference for Danmaris and her delegation, and that they can convey the friendship from the Chinese people to their own people after returning home. Wu Zhong pointed out that Shanghai Business School is a university focused on business education with a history of more than 70 years. With high-quality resources in the fields of business trade and scientific and technological innovation, it boasts rich practical experience in human resources training and personnel training. He said that SBS is willing to cooperate with universities in Venezuela to carry out personnel training under the guidance of the spirit of the meeting between the two heads of state. At the same time, he also welcomed exchanges between universities in Venezuela and universities, scientific research institutions and scholars in China to jointly promote the development of science and technology innovation and other economic and social fields.
Ms. Danmaris introduced the state of science and technology innovation in Venezuela, and said that the Venezuelan government attaches great importance to scientific and technological innovation and is committed to promoting the coordinated development of scientific and technological innovation of production, education and research through policies. She pointed out that as strategic partners, China and Venezuela have broad cooperation space in the field of scientific and technological innovation. Ms. Danmaris expressed her willingness to convey President Wu Zhong's desire to carry out exchanges and cooperation of young talents between universities of the two countries to Venezuela's Ministry of Science and Technology and other departments, so as to provide a platform for the enrollment and personnel training of international students in universities of the two countries, promote the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship, thus, promoting the development of bilateral relations.
Ms.Danmaris used to be the Executive Director of Merida Bolivar State, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Venezuelan University. This time, she came to China to attend Seminario de Innovación en Ciencia y Tecnología para Países Latinoamericanos hosted by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) of Shanghai Business School.
