creation date:2024-06-20

On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the College of International Education hosted a career planning, case sharing, and experience exchange session for international students at SBS. Career education plays a crucial role in the professional development of international students, providing insights into the supply and demand dynamics of China’s job market. The session aimed to assist international students in formulating scientific and rational career plans, ultimately facilitating their attainment of high-quality employment opportunities.

Firstly, the counselor of international student, Li Zixi, conducted a career planning session. Drawing on recent job market trends and the distinctive attributes of international students, she delivered a comprehensive overview on identifying opportunities, leveraging personal strengths, and addressing weaknesses. Given that many international students lack sufficient internship and practical experience, she encouraged them to take the initial step by confidently presenting themselves and embarking resolutely on their job search.

Secondly, Kong Ching Huong, a graduate from the 2020 class of Business Administration, shared her experience on how to write a graduation thesis. Her thesis, titled "Study on Impact of Marketing Factors on Online Purchase Intentions in Malaysia", was awarded the "Excellent Bachelor's Thesis of 2024 in Shanghai Business School". As a senior, she shared insights into the key aspects and challenges of topic selection, design, framework development, research, and thesis writing. She also shared her insights on how to effectively communicate with the supervisor. Since international students also need to pass the Chinese proficiency test for graduation, Kong Ching Huong also generously shared her experience in the registration process, revision methods, and preparation strategies for the exam.
