On the evening ofAugust31, 2022 (GMT+8), the closing ceremonyfor "Seminar on Import and Export Trade for Portuguese-Speaking Countries" hosted bytheMinistry of Commerce and organized by MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) washeld online. Xu Yuansheng, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, He Ying, Vice President of Shanghai Business School, Chen Wei, Deputy Dean of International Education College ofSBSand Che Chunli,Associate Professor from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics attended theclosingceremony and delivered speeches.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the people of China and Portuguese-speaking countries have always been helping each other, and multilateral relations have continued to improve. China and the Portuguese-speaking countries have united to fight the epidemic, overcome difficulties andplanforcommon development. The cooperation between two sides has enriched the connotation of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. Theseminarwas successfully held online before the epidemic had completely dissipated in China, which is a positive step to practice the concept of human destiny community.
Xu Yuansheng said that development is the eternal theme of human society.This seminar is at the right time, focusing on the theme of "import and export trade", which is in line with the desire of countries to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and achieve common development in the fields oftrade in goods and services.
He Ying said that although theseminar has ended, the exchange and cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in thisfield will be broader and deeper, and the friendship formed will definitely be renewed. She also expressed her sincere hope that the participants will contribute to the development of friendly cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and become friendly messengers that convey friendship and promote cooperation.
Che Chunli spoke as the representative of teaching experts. She said that she was very encouraged by theparticipantswho overcome difficulties, insist on participating in the training, and actively participate in the discussion. And shelooksforward to all theparticipants coming to China to participate in the CIIE, promote the national imageandproducts, and use this platform to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, so as to benefit the people of China and theparticipating countries.
Dario Dias da Cruz Junior from the Brazilian Federal Police said that through theseminar, everyone has a better understanding of China, a friendly country. It is important for allparticipantsto have the opportunity to attend lectures by highly qualified teachers. The seminar will yield lasting results helping strengthen trade and cultural ties between China and Brazil and then identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing business relationships between the two countries.
Fatima Ricardo Joao Miranda from the Angolan Ministry of Industry and Trade, speaking on behalf of all Angolanparticipants, said that she was very satisfied with the course content and she looked forward to participating in more projects in the future.
Fabrizio Bachette from the Business Bureau of Sao Tome and Principe, speaking on behalf of all Sao Tome and Principeparticipants, said that the front-end technology available in China, as well as sustainable and innovative strategies, could bring greater economic revenue to the countries and that it would be necessary to hold similar seminars in the future.
Finally, the Chinese side witnessed the ceremony of awarding certificates of completion at the offline venue in Rio, Brazil. Xu Yuansheng presented certificates to 13 participants and took a group photo.
Theseminarlasted for 21 days and 46 government officials fromthe ministries of industry and trade and the bureau of commerceof Angola, Brazil Sao Tome and Principeattended.
